List of causes listed; thyroid issue most likely
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Well there could be quite a few causes for such a presentation, which is why I shall go ahead and list them out for you:
+Hormonal imbalances
+Pre-, peri- or menopausal symptoms
+Neurological abnormalities relating to the hypothalamus (temperature regulating area of the brain)
+Thyroid abnormalities
+Obesity
+Excessive smoking
and a few other less likely causes.
Based on the above list, I need to know the following:
+Do you smoke? If so, how many cigarettes a day?
+Could you share your height and weight with me, so I can calculate your BMI?
+Do you have any menstrual irregularities? If so, please explain.
As for the other causes, menopause and its other stages can be ruled out as you are too young. The only thing I am leaving for the last, if at all the other causes have been considered and ruled out is an abnormality with the hypothalamus.
In my opinion, due to a positive family history a thyroid abnormality is quite possible and so I would highly recommend a thyroid profile to be conducted. Please do write back to me with the results of the same once you are able to undergo the test.
I look forward to hearing from you in order to further help you ma'am. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
That brings us to two possibilities
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
Thank you so much for your response ma'am, I really appreciate it.
Its good to know that you do not smoke. Based on your weight and height your BMI is approximately 20, which is way within normal, which is good news again. Your menstrual abnormalities are the only indication we have so the option we are left with are:
+Hormonal imbalances
+Thyroid abnormalities
I would thus recommend the following blood tests at your doctors clinic or a laboratory are write back to me with the results ma'am:
-Thyroid profile
-Sex hormone levels
Your response has greatly helped us to narrow down to the cause for your symptoms, and we have almost got there. Please do get the tests conducted and we can then move on to treatment.
I hope you find my response helpful ma'am. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
The old report is no longer relevant ma'am
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
I would like to ask if you had any of the symptoms you have now then? i.e. before the test was conducted?
If not then the test would not have been of any help, and even if you did the test was conducted more than 2 years ago and so it is irrelevant. If it is not too much trouble please do get those tests conducted along with an ultrasound of your abdomen and pelvis.
I guarantee you we will be able to reach a diagnosis with these 3 investigations. I look forward to hearing from you further in order to help you. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
Sure ma'am
