What Causes Excessive Menstrual Bleeding?
Question: I don't normally have heavy periods or cramping. I went to the ER today because I was bleeding pretty heavily. I bleed straight through the super + tampons plus a pad in about an hour. I'm wondering if I should go back. It is kind of worrying me since I don't normally have a heavy flow.
Brief Answer:
Monitoring only return if it persists!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Experiencing increased menstrual bleed isn’t uncommon. The best approach at this time is to monitor only. In most instances, the volume would significantly reduce and there is no need for specific medical evaluation or management. If it fails to regress and pains increase, at that time i will recommend you get an ultrasound to look at what could be happening with the uterus.
In all, no immediate ER visit. Monitor only as regression is often expected. Only seek more assistance if it persists or cramps increase.
I hope this helps and guides. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
