Brief Answer:
A heart or lung problem and osteoarthrithis could be responsible

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam XXXXXXXX
Thank you for asking healthcare magic
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.

With this presentation, and taking your age into consideration, it is possible that shortness of breath, chest pain and fatigue might be related to a heart or lung problem. Your stress test was normal but some other tests can reveal something.

If I were your treating doctor, I would suggest you do some other tests like a chest X-ray, an ultrasound of the heart and cardiac angiography (to assess blood flow within the heart muscles). Also, a fasting blood sugar test would be important. I would suggest you discuss the usefulness of these tests with your attending cardiologist.

Sweating can be as a result of menopause or some other condition.
Given that the rheumatology blood test were negative, it could be possible that the chronic joint pain could be from non inflammatory degenerative joint disease like ostearthritis. Maintaining a healthy weight and the use of pain killers can relief you of this pain.

I hope I have answered your query.

Thank you for your detailed answer Dr. Bihle.

You mentioned cardio angiography and ultra sound, is it same as Echo? I got it right after nuclear stress test. He used Lexiscan for the stress test, is that cardioangiography? I had a bad complication during the nuclear stress test though. Diring the testing I had a sever stomach cramp and fatigue, entire body shut off on me, my body was shaking about 30 minutes after that. I thought I had a minor heart attack. My cardiologist said my major arteries are fine and the complication during the test was just side effect, nothing to worried about. Is that right?

What is your opinion of bad side effect like that? I checked Lexiscan product information, it says, the side effect is rare but still happens with people has possible heart disease. Whatelse cardiologist could miss to test me to find out more of hidden cause of my heart symptoms? I am sorry to ask this sensitive question but I am a middle aged women and I heard chest muscle spasm could induce heart attack. Should I still ask my Cardiologist to check more of it for my benefit?

Thank you

Brief Answer:
I think you should discuss the usefulness of tests with your cardiologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam XXXXXXXX,
Thank you for that clarification.

Cardioangiography is a type of test that assesses blood flow in blood vessels supplying heart muscles. It has the same principle with nuclear stress test.
Ultrasound is the same as echography. In addition to assessing blood flow to heart muscles, nuclear stress test can also give an idea on the size of the heart but I think an ultrasound might still be needed because it would give a more detailed information on the structure of the heart.

Concerning the side effects, I don't think you should be worried again. From what you have said it means they have all gone away. These side effects can occur in anybody but some people especially those having certain heart problems tend to present with them more than those without such heart problems.

Concerning what cardiologists might have missed to test, I would think that if the heart and lungs are assessed together, vital information could come out. I think an X-ray or chest CT scan is necessary. It would give information concerning the size of heart and the state of lungs. Also, I would have loved to know the results of an ECG (or EKG) if it was done.

Another test that might not have been done is a full blood count. Shortage of blood (anemia) can still cause these symptoms.

To conclude, I think you can still discuss the usefulness of a heart ultrasound, chest X-ray (or CT scan) and full blood count with your treating cardiologist.

I hope I have answered your query.
