What Causes Excessive Vaginal Bleeding Post Intercourse?

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Mar 2017
Question: My friend got a little intimate with his girlfriend and he ejaculated (without penetration) in his clothes (underwear and cotton cargo). That happened on the 8th day of her previous cycle. A little semen got into his girl friend's trackpants. She had unnatural bleeding (light as compared to periods) on the 15th day of her periods and it continued for 5 days. Now she says she has missed her regular periods which was due on 31st XXXXXXX 2017. They are shit scared if that has led to any unwanted pregnancy. Please give your suggestion.

Brief Answer:
Provide more details and get urine pregnancy test done

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Pregnancy is unlikely without any proper intercourse. Sometimes, pregnancy can occur if the semen is deposited around vagina.
Moreover, this bleeding on the 15 th day can occur if emergency pill is taken.
Please provide any such details.
In case of no emergency pill intake, get a urine pregnancy test done.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Thank You for your valuable comments Doctor.

Details : Last period occured on 31-Dec-2016

Semen was not deposited around vagina directly. Not sure about the seeping through clothes part, only a spot was observed in the girl's trackpants.

No morning after-pill or emergency contraceptives were taken since no one thought that this could be an issue.

So my questions are

1. Can sperm survive through four layers of clothing (two layers on each person) and impregnate a girl?

2. The bleeding on the 15th day continued for 5 days (24x5=120 hrs approx) i.e from 15th to 20th XXXXXXX 2017. It was light as compared to regular periods and no severe cramps were observed as is normally the case. Can implantation bleeding continue for 5 days? If not then can there be any other cause for such bleeding?

3. If God forbid their is a pregnancy can it be disposed privately and till what time? Can abortion pills be opted for without prescription?

Footnote: Urine pregnancy test is a little out of reach considering the place and the strict monitoring by parents. So kindly judge the details and explain the odds.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear.
1. No, sperms cannot survive 4 layers of clothing. This cannot cause pregnancy.
2. Implantation bleeding can occur for 5 days. Other causes are i pill intake, hormonal disturbances.
3. Pregnancy can be terminated by medicines. However, medicines are to be taken only under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.
However, pregnancy is unlikely in this case.
