Question: the area of the left lymphatic duct turns into a ridge about the length of the duct and about one and a half inches high when I raise up from the prone position. Also I have lots of stomach gas and am burping a lot. Any ideas?
Also have been constipated and my bowel movement has been little round balls.
could this be another symptom?

Hi there..
Thanks for writing in.
Sorry I didn't understand what you were trying to say about the lymphatic duct.....
Regarding stomach gas, burping, constipation..... The possibilities are gastritis/acidity/ indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome etc
Do drink warm water after waking up in the morning. Warm water is good for digestion.
Drink warm water at regular intervals.
Exercise 30 minutes a day 5 days a week.
Have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, salads. Etc. Include whole grain cereals like wheat , oats in your diet.
Eat frequent smaller meals rather than 3 large meals.
Take probiotics like lactobacilli, which help maintain the normal flora of the gut.
If none of this measures work, do visit a gastroenterologist who might prescribe you antacids like ranitidine etc. and do further investigations if necessary.
Hope this helps.

I was using the duct to describe where the area is that raises up when I get up from the prone position. The sternum is a better description of the area. The area that raises up is about 6 or 7 inches long and is about an inch or so higher than the chest, is firm and feels like a muscle and goes away when I am standing erect. It is about one and a half inches wide. This only happens when I am getting up by bending forward at the waist.

Detailed Answer:
It might be the xiphoid process, which is part of the sternum.
However, please do visit a doctor to rule out hernia etc.
