What Causes Extreme Hot Flashes When Diagnosed With Severe Adhesive Arachnoiditis?
There are few things you can do to improve symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
I am sorry to hear what you are going through, as the adhesive arachnoiditis is a severe, incurable inflamation of the middle layer of spine coverings, caused by repetitive surgery, or by use of chemical agents to spine such contrast mediums.
What you can try to minimize symptoms, besides drugs, includes:
- physical therapy, ( myofascial releasing technique, cranial-sacral therapy )
- spine manipulation such TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), laser therapy, acupuncture.
- exercises against loss of spine mobility such hydrotherapy and isometric exercises.
- if you noticed any triggering food ( eg. caffeine, etc.), you should avoid them.
- medical marihuana helps in improving symptoms.
- lifestyle modifications include avoiding smoking, alchohol, staying positive.
About physical therapy and spine manipulation techniques, there is need to discuss with trained medical personnel who is familiar with those techniques.
Hope I helped you. I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.
Wishing you good health.
Anticholinergic drugs may improve your symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Hot flashes and excessive sweating can be worsened by female hormones disbalance too, besides adhesive arachnoiditis.
There is need for an estrogen blood level first. If there is estrogen disbalance, correcting it may improve at least partially your symptoms.
Excessive sweating can be treated by anticholinergic drugs ( Benadryl, Atropine, etc.)
Since these are prescription drugs, their use should be discussed with your treating Doctor.
Hope I helped you. Best regards and good health.
