What Causes Extreme Pain And Hardness Around Injection Site?
It is a drug collection which is also compressing the sensory nerve.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your query and the uploaded image. It's probably collection of the drug that you injected into the area.
The pain is likely due to the compression or injury to the nerve travelling nearby. Do not worry, it should settle down in a few days.
You can continue to apply warm pads or warm water fomentation.
Massaging is not required and could be detrimental.
I would advice my patients neurotropic drugs like Pregabalin 75mg twice daily and pain killer medicines like Diclofenac sodium twice daily for 7 to 10 days. Also apply compression in the form of Crepe bandage.
As long as there is no weakness of the fingers or wrist muscles then you can relax but please be careful as complete injury of the nerve can cause permanent damage to the nerve and you could lose function of the hand.
Take care and do let us know if there any other concerns.
