What Causes Extreme Pain In Buttocks,groin,pelvis,thigh And Calf?

Question: Extreme pain in right buttock, groin, pelvis, thigh and calf , much worse at night when I try to sleep. I find I have to sleep sitting up in a recliner chair. Pain is not relieved by Lyrica, Panadein fortem, tramadol or panadol osteo. I am tired of being tired and in pain.

Brief Answer: may need intervention Detailed Answer: Hi, this type of pain if not Getting relieved by the medicine you have mentioned, mean that 1. You need to get the diagnosis confirmed, which may need an MRI on your GPs prescription and 2. May need an intervention in the form of epidural steroid or transforaminal steroid injection. For this you may need to seek a referance to a pain specialist through your GP.

Thankyou for your reply. The Tramadol makes me sick, the Lyrica gives me a very thick tongue, so I have stopped taking those but absolutely nothing seemed to relieve the pain. I saw a specialist yesterday and he suggested an MRI. I also have pain and weakness in the soles of my feet when I get up in the morning but that goes after a short while. I cannot lift my right leg easily or any distance, finding I have to lift it into the car with my hand. My pelvis feels as though I am about to have a very heavy period but I am way past that in age. Seven years ago I had a quad bike accident resulting in a crush injury and compartment syndrome. The bike sat on my right buttock for 5 hours. I am wondering if my current problems are not related to that. Any thoughts?
