Brief Answer:
cataract

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
Such severe numbness and discomfort as you describe does not occur with astigmatism and if it does occur than is greatly relieved by putting on glasses.
We have to look for other causes of such strain. I am sure diabetese and BP were looked into before surgery.Consult a general physician to rule out any general cause for such strain. If the physician suggests then have a openion of neurologist if necessary.
As a last resort if everything else is ok you can have 5 days trial of painkiller as this also breaks the cycle and you will be relieved.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
