What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat?
Question: Hello doctor,
I am facing problem for the last 1.5 month.1-2 hours after eating, I start feeling as if something is stuck below my throat. This feeling is more prominent during day time after lunch. My endoscopy was performed and was diagnosed with antral gastritis. I am on medicines now. Pantocid L once in morning and rantac-150 at night. Please suggest if I am getting right treatment. I am feeling choked after eating like bone is stuck in my throat. I am also feeling gastric fullness and lot of burping and belching. Please suggest.

From the symptoms you have described it is certain that you are having reflux disease with gas problem
For which you have been prescribed pantocid l and rantac Which Iis appropriate
Few more things I want to add
1.add capsule simethicone ( brand name medigas ) To be raken thrice a day. Available OTC. I found it very useful in my patients with bloating symptoms
2. Avoid tea coffee spicy food and oil food these all food leads to increase in acid production
3. Avoid taking water meals and lying down soon after meals for at least two hrs

Please let me know for how long I need to continue these medicines.
Also, should I consult ENT to rule out any throat problems. Because, after having meals I constantly need to clear my throat as if something is stuck just below my throat. Also, I experience lot of tightness in the throat. This problem is troubling me a lot.

Foreingn body sensation in throat is common symptom of reflux disease. Since endoscopy has been done which has also examined your throat. If there had been abnormality in throat it would have been visible during this examination
So keep cool. There is no need to consult ENT specialiat at least presently. It will also improve once reflux symptoms are controlled
