All of a sudden, he developed sore throat and cough and then had fever- the fever is consistently high at around 102-103 degrees.
There is severe headache and vomiting sensation, no abdominal pain or diarrhoea.
Seems to be seasonal flu
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
From your description it seems to be flu. It may also be bronchitis.
I would like to know if there is sputum and what colour is it?
For now the treatment is symptomatic. If there is fever paracetamol 500 mg 3-4 times a day can be taken. If paracetamol does not relieve headache, then add tab ibuprofen 200 mg 2-3 times day to it. For sore throat anti-allergic medicine like cetirizine or chlorpheniramine 2 times a day can be taken.
Antibiotics may be required depending on mucous.
Take steam inhalation (if possible with karvol capsules cut in it or can also put eucalyptus oil)
Warm food and liquids will soothen the throat
Lozenges also are helpful
Tea or milk with ginger and saunf boiled in it is also good
Flu takes a few days to get better.
Hope it helps.
