Brief Answer:
Give him tylenol, consult doctor if fever persists

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

The most common cause of fever is viral illness. Initially fever may be the only symptoms. After 2-3 days symptoms like cough cold( in respiratory infection) or vomiting loose stool(in intestinal infection) may appear.
The viral infection does not need any specific treatment. The main aim is to make him afebrile and maintain hydration.
Usually fever of viral origin starts declining in frequency or severity after 3 - 4 days.
I want to know if there is any urinary problem in your child as sometimes fever may be only complaint and early investigation and treatment is needed if reports are suggestive.

If there is no urinary complaint then I would suggest you to continue tylenol for fever.Be watchful for any deterioration in condition or appearance of new symptoms.Make a temperature chart to monitor the pattern of fever.
If the condition deteriorates or fever is not showing a down trend consult your physician for evaluation.

I shall be glad to answer if you have any further query.
