What Causes Fluctuating Heart Pulse Rate?

Question: I am having occasional "bouts" of a pulse rate fluctuating between 80 & 120. It lasts for a few minutes settling down to between 85 & 90. What is the cause?
Brief Answer:
Varied cause...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As long as pulse rate is regular and you are asymptomatic, these fluctuation are unlikely to be sinister.
Pulse and heart rate is influenced by physical as well as physiological factors which are normal. Pathological ones usually produce an irregular rhythm, associated clinical complaints and a very high heart rate.
I suggest you visit a physician who can examine the peripheral pulse carefully and order for an EKG.
Hope this suffices. Feel free to ask for more clarifications.
Regards
