What Causes Foul Odor In Stool While Having Gout?

Question: I realize this is an ugly subject but my stool, which has only recently begun to solidify after a couple of months has a terrible, putrid odor. Is this a symptom of anything?

I also think I have gout.

A stool analysis to exclude an infection is recommended.

Only the odor of the stool is not sufficient to say that stool is abnormal.
If it has a normal consistency , frequency and normal color than you don't need to worry.
Although i would recommend a stool examination just to exclude a possible infection.

The growth of migroorganisms in colon , which are not part of normal flora ( Clostridium difficile, viruses, parasites etc) can cause such a pudrid odor of the stool.In this case it can be treated with antibiotika.
