What Causes Fungal Infection In The Groin Area While On Miconazole?
Question: We have a Rx for the Nystatin Cream USP from my husband's Veteran's dr but it has no refill. The fungal infection is in the groin area, on the scrotum and in the folds of skin across his abdomen. He weights almost 400 lb and has a big "overhang" of belly fat. I am applying cream 3 x a day as instructed. Once a day I wash with antifungal soap and dry well (I use gloves). He has been instructed to pretty much stay flat, off his feet, and allow the rash and open sores to heal and dry out. Hard to dry unless I push back the folds and hold them for a while. The rash already looks better but the cream is almost gone. It takes "forever" to get a refill with the VA. Is it possible to order thru this site?

Brief Answer:
Medicines are not given through this site.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Medicines are not given from this site.
For fungal infection in groin area you can use miconazole cream which is more effective. This is available as otc in Walgreens in brands like Triple paste AF.
If there is not much improvement then taking oral anti fungal agents like fluconazole tablet 150 mg weekly once for 4 weeks will be helpful. But this is a prescription drug.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
