What Causes Gas, Stomach Gurgling And Fullness In Upper Chest?
Stomach and chest could be different problems
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I am sorry that your husband is having these problems. There are several issues that can cause these stomach problems. One is that he has gastritis from some stomach irritation. I see that he has tried gaviscon and windeze but a stronger acid blocker would be something like omeprazole which you can buy at the pharmacy. It can also be caused by food intolerances. The easiest food to try and eliminate is dairy products. Many adults have lactose intolerance and can not break down dairy products easily causing gas and in some cases stomach aches and diarrhea. The next thing to try and eliminate is gluten which is found in all wheat products. Give each elimination trial a month or so to see if there are improvements in the gassiness and discomfort.
Now for the more concerning issues of his chest fullness and irregular heartbeats. This could be from a heart condition and I would suggest that he see his doctor about these complaints. The chance of heart disease depends upon many things, is he a smoker? have hypertension? diabetes? high cholesterol? Only his doctor can sort all of this out. I suggest that you get him to his doctor as soon as possible to make sure that his heart is okay. Thank you for using Health Care Magic.
thanks for this information
Detailed Answer:
So sometimes people can have heart irregularities without having chest pain. The findings can be very subtle. Even though he may not have a lot of risk factors for heart disease, just being a man over 50 puts him at some risk and the skipped beats can be an indicator that something is not right. Please get him to a doctor to have a general checkup, some lab tests and an electrocardiogram. He may need further testing to sort this out and may even need to see a cardiologist. Thanks for your questions and concerns.
