What Causes Hand And Head Tremors, Urinary Incontinence And Lightheadedness?
These are resting tremors.
As time goes on, I am "missing" words more often and have to hesitate before responding to people. This began before the tremors. In fact, in the fall of 2000 made an apt to see a neurologist because suddenly I wasn't able to speak. I thought maybe it was a small stroke. The words were there but I couldn't get them out. The neurologist said it was aphasia.
A recent event in November that caused extreme stress has made every symptom worse and not by a little. It has been over a month and the tremors have not calmed down at all and are constant.
Can the increase in tremors be due to stress alone?
Stress can worsen the tremors.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms and the recent worsening in them.
I agree that tremors can get worse with stress. However, we need to confirm the diagnosis to explain your symptoms.
The most common condition to exclude would be Parkinson's disease (PD) in view of resting tremors and reduced arm swing. The other condition to exclude would be essential tremors.
In both these conditions, tremors can worsen with stress.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
