What Causes Hard And Sensitive Vein After Insertion Of Intravenous Cannula?

It is likely to be due to Thrombophlebitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
The hard and sensitive vein is due to Thrombophlebitis that is clotting of blood in the vein due to insertion of Intravenous cannula. It is self limiting and there is no cause for concern.
I would suggest you the following
1. Local application of Ice /Ice pack will be helpful
2. Local application of Heparin Ointment will help
3. Rest to affected arm
4. Anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen which is available as over the counter medication will help relieve pain and tenderness
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
Best regards

Local application of Ice will be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms
Thrombophlebitis should subside with local application of Ice and anti inflammatory like Ibuprofen. No further intervention is required. Ice and antiinflammatory measures as suggested won't interfere with warfarin. So no concerns.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
Take care
Regards
Dr Deepak
