When Can Nasal Cannula Supplying Oxygen Taken Off?
hi my name is Eva, my baby was born at 24 weeks at 1lb 5oz. after 4 months in the NICU my son was sent home on 1/2 flow of oxygen. Sometimes his nasal canula falls off during the night and Im not sure how much time passes before I notice but he seems to sleep fine with it off. Do u think i should take his oxygen off for good?

Hi,
I would not recommend you taking it off without a pulse oximeter showing good saturation. The doctors would have recommended you to take this because they might have found that your son is lapsing into hypoxia gradually and that is the reason why I suggest you continue this.
