What Causes Hard Bump Below Kneecap?
Question: I have a small hard bump about an inch below knee cap that I just noticed when my leg was stretched out. It's painless

Since when you have this bump? Is there similar bump on the other leg?
Bump in this location can be a benign skin lesion (like lipoma) or just a bone structure which is not a pathology.
Lipoma is usually movable bump. It never gives any pain. It slowly grows.
Bone part is usually hard as a bone and not movable. The only reason to concern is rapidly growing bump. Other cases are rather not serious.
I suggest you to keep it under observation. If it will be getting bigger, consult your doctor and have an ultrasound done.

My only concern is that it's very hard and seemed to pop up suddenly. Here's another picture of both knees to compare. Thank you
