What Causes Hard Spot In Left Breast With Family History Of Breast Cancer?
Question: My family has a history of breast cancer. My maternal Grandmother lost her breast and passed away with breast cancer/alzheimer's. My maternal Aunt had breast cancer which both my grandmother and Aunt's cancers were estrogen positive so i cant use that. I had a full hysterectomy 2 years ago for very heavy periods that were leaving me anemic. My mother has had several lumps removed from her breast but they have all came back fine after they were removed.
My spot on my left breast has been there awhile, maybe a year. Just recently it got a hard spot underneath it. A example of how it looks. If i was to of tried to pop it, it pulls in..almost like its connected. I woukd never try and pop it though. If you feel it a certain way its about the size of a pea..give or take a little. Im wondering if its just something to do with like my skin, like a cyst or something or is it something that i need to hurry and get checked?

Brief Answer:
Looks like small fibroadenoma or breast cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
In view of details your symptoms promotes me to think of two possibilities fibroadenoma and cyst. Both are benign lesions, which dont need treatment.
However in view of family history all such lesions should undergo clinical examination and sonomammography. At later age xray mammography is used as screening test.
In such lesions interval change seen on regular follow ups is more important to reach early diagnosis.
Actually, your family history and not this lesion makes me suggest for a screening evaluation.
Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.

I just read up about fibroadenoma and my spot doesnt move like it explained. Its never really been painful but i did have some sensitivity around my nipple.
Brief Answer:
Then benign lesion/cyst becomes first possibility.
Detailed Answer:
Your symptoms dont make me think of cancer.
Your symptoms are not specific for one particular cause. So its gonna be a guess work for both of us.So ideal would be to get sonomammography done. Its simple, easy and noninvasive way to know what it is.
I am inclined and pretty sure it will turn out to benign(noncancerous lesion).
Do ask if there are doubts.Regards.
