What Causes Hard Swollen Spot On Face?
Is this a bacterial infection of some sort? Would antibiotics work? Is it ok to heat the area?
I am 64 years old, and have had acne in the past, but not for the last ten years or so unless you count the small bump before it grew today.
Needs assessment and examination
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
I read your question and i understand your concern. Bumps for a few months over the face could be multifactorial. COnsidering the age of 64 i would strongly advise to see a dermatologist and let them have a look at this bumps as god forbid basal and squamous cell malignancies are sometimes just a bump on the face.
Infections are not that hard bumps and are usually resolving ina few days and does not prevail for months. Acne if has the history then it can be connected as actinocytic keratosis and keratocytes irritation of the skin may lead to such bumps with no symptoms.
It is too early to comment on. Warmth or antibiotics will only help once these bumps are proved innocuous and mere an infection or a recurrent acne. It needs a dermatological consult for further management.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
may the odds be ever in your favour.
