What Causes Headache And Stomach Ache After A Radical Hysterectomy?
Question: I have been experiencing Orthostatic hypotension along with symptoms of hypoglycemia. I also get a headache and stomach ache. The symptoms come on suddenly and without warning. I had a radical hysterectomy 9 mo. Ago. I'm not currently on hormones. I stopped the Vivelle dot .025 two I weeks ago to see if symptoms were related to this script. Not sure what to do now.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
DId you stop the hormones out cold turkey ?
Your symptoms match exactly with those of hormone withdrawal.
I am pretty sure it is due to stopping the Vivelle Dot.
Start off now again, you should be fine in a few days.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.

The symptoms started before I stopped the hormones. That's why I stopped. The tingling in hands, drop in pressure when standing and sugar drop were going while on hormone patch. I was wondering if I was allergic to the patch. Thanks for the help.

Detailed Answer:
Okay, how long did you feel the symptoms before stopping the patch ?
In short for how long did you use it before discontinuing, and how many days into the patch did you first notice them ?
At times, adjusting to the hormones too takes time, you should give it 2 - 3 weeks before deciding to stop.

When I first had surgery I used the Climara patch for 6 mo. I had some problems with it. .025 mgs. Fatigue, headache, sinus pressure. Got off and two mo. Later I started Vivelle dot .025. I was on it for 3 mo. When in the last month all the symptoms came on. I stopped it two weeks ago. I felt I had to try to get off, because I kept getting worse. I just felt terrible all the time. The blood pressure was dropping every time I would stand up, while on the patch. Thanks again.

Since you took it for almost 2 months without issues, I would ask you to start it again and try it for a couple of weeks.
This might be a temporary phase.
Take care.
Thank you for the appreciation.
