default
Posted on Mon, 31 Jul 2017
Question: My Mother is 64 years of age. She has a history of hyper acidity. About 2 months ago, she started getting headaches with sweating and pain in her legs. headache would be sometimes start after doing household chores, with bouts of sweating. We have visited multiple socialists, including general MDs and even neurologist. All test are negative - cancer, diabetes, infection (blood report + urine report),heart (ECG, 2D echo), thyroid, lower abdomen sonography. reports indicated she had low vit D3. She now takes multiviatmins, Uprise D3 6000 once a week and pentaprazole.
Neurologist has diagnosed it as Migraine ( a general term for headache as she put it). and given some migraine related medication. My mother has not taken migraine medicine since it causes he sleeplessness and tiredness.
After two months, leg pain and sweating have subsided. but she still gets headaches sometimes.

I hope to get a second opinion.

The headache at this age may be tension type headache is associated with stress, decreased sleep, holocranial and without any nausea or vomiting.
Migraine headache usually starts in young or early adulthood. It is associated with nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to sound or light.
If all reports are normal, then amitriptyline or sertraline can be tried which helps in headache and sleep also.
