What Causes Headache While Treating UTI?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Apr 2017
Question: I recently had a urinary track infection, l was given antibiotics for 1 week . The antibiotics side effects were bad on my body so l asked to try and clear the infection naturally. I still have the infection although now it maybe a yeast infection or candida. My question is can an infection still in the body affect other parts of the body such as your head, nose and ears? Since the urinary infection and antibiotics l have had headaches across the forehead, balance issues, itchy ears and slight burning to the sinus. I had an MRI which was clear and l also went to see an ENT Dr who confirmed everything was ok. My next step it to go back to the Dr for a blood check, Pap smear and urinary test. ( Today l also bought some medicine to help with the yeast infection) I want to know if the two can be linked with each other.
The symptoms are also making me tired and light headed, I have no appetite but am eating regular 3 balanced meals a day.

Brief Answer:
Ye, germs can spread to other parts of the body!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this infection and the intolerance to the antibiotics. I would have strongly advocated that other antibiotics be tried to see if they are more friendly that stopping all together. I hope the natural remedies to do help you. Just to be sure that all is under control, I will suggest that you provide a urine sample for culture to make sure that it is sterile.

Germs can travel to other parts of the body. However, these symptoms are not suggestive of such a spread yet. A spread would manifest with severe fevers and chills and not just pains like you have reported.

In all, these symptoms cannot be linked to a spread of germs from the urinary tract. Urine culture to establish that the infection has been cleared is highly recommended.

Am not sure you have candidiasis!! Maybe you can talk more about your symptoms for interpretation?

I hope this sheds more light on your health concerns. I wish you well and readily available for further exchanges.

yes l don't think it's candida l misused the word. I'm then at a loss to understand what could be tha cause of headache/ off balance ears itching and sinus, if there's no connection to the infection. As l said the Dr didn't find any issues with my test results yet these symptoms are persisting and are uncomfortable. Other suggestion was anxiety and stress but my lifestyle is not stressful except now with these illnesses.

Brief Answer:
What medications are you on at this time?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up.

Can you kindly provide the list of medications you are currently taking at this time? Also, do you have any past notions of allergies? Clearly, these are not symptoms of an infection like i mentioned earlier.

I hope to hear from you.
