Brief Answer:
AS below:

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Hearing your own heartbeat may be due to earwax or fluid build up behind the ear drum, a patulous eustachian tube, blood pressure variations and anemia.

2. Get a Pure Tone Audiogram (PTA) and a Tympanogram (Impedance Audiogram)., Neck Color Doppler Study, cervical spine X-rays (to rule out cervical spondylosis), blood tests for thyroid hormones, cholesterol (lipid profile) and a plain Sinus CT Scan.

3. If the above investigations are normal, the cause may not be found (idiopathic in a majority of cases) as it happens one in a while. Tinnitus is not a cause for worry in 99% people.

4. Kindly let me know the results of your tests. This will help in suggesting further treatment.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
No, not likely to be heart related.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. This is unlikely to be heart related. Does the sound increase or change on clenching your jaw/teeth?

2. You may get a Cardiologist's opinion to ease your mind.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
