Brief Answer:
lifestyle/dietary changes are important to prevent recurrence

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

Heartburn is a symptom of acid reflux disease. In this condition, the stomach contents reflux in to the food pipe causing various symptoms of which heartburn is the classic one.
Medications like omprazole control the symptoms of acid reflux including heartburn.
But acid reflux can recur any number of times. To prevent recurrence of acid reflux and its symptoms including heartburn, lifestyle/dietary changes are important.
These include -
1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoiding smoking and drinking alcohol if you have those habits
3. Avoiding coffee, citrus, chocolates, tomatoes, fatty food, spicy/masala food.
4.Avoid eating larger meals and trying to eat smaller frequent meals
5. Avoid going to bed immediately after food. Go to bed at least 2-3 hours after food.
6. Sleeping with head elevated position.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
No need for another endoscopy.

The butter you take can worsen the symptoms. So avoid taking butter. Avoid spicy food items also.

You can take a course of Nexpro L once a day before breakfast for 4 weeks for relief.
