need some more details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

There can be quite a few causes for heavy periods.
So I need some more information to guide you better:-
1) What exactly is your age now?
2)What was the pattern of bleeding during the cycles till now?
3) Do you take any drugs?
4)Any thyroid or other medical abnormalities?
5)Do you take any medication to control bleeding?

Kindly revert back with the reply in follow-up.

Thanks.

treatment of cause;till then symptomatic treatment

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow-up query.
Sorry for the delay in response.

I have some suggestions for you:

Heavy bleeding can cause reduced hemoglobin and anemia. This can cause tiredness and weakness. I would first suggest you to go for testing hemoglobin levels. Iron supplements are advised.

Also, go for thyroid tests, as thyroid disorders are common cause of menstrual irregularities. It can also cause swelling in body.

For heavy bleeding, the treatment of cause is needed. A per-vaginal examination by a gynecologist and an abdominal ultrasound can help to determine common causes like polyp, fibroid, pelvic inflammatory disease.

The drugs useful to control bleeding are tranexamic acid and norethistrone.

Tranexamic acid is to be started when periods starts and stopped as the periods stop.

Norethistrone is to taken for 21 days in one cycle and is usually given for two-three cycles.

Here i would like to mention that the drugs are to be taken only under your doctor's supervision.

Also, drink plenty of water. Take fibrous foods. Tablet pantoprazole when taken empty stomach will help in bloating.

Consult your gynecologist and discuss these issues.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.
