Brief Answer:
You need to get x ray
Detailed Answer:
Hello madam,
It can be a prominent bone which is causing this bursitis. I would suggest you to get x ray to confirm size of the bone. According to that we can decide on management of this case.
In my patients with similar complains I have following suggestions.
1. Physiotherapy to reduce weight and calf stretching exercises.
2. Hot water fomentation
3. Modified shoes with silicone insole or wear open shoes which should not rub on that part.
4. Steroid injection can be given at most tender point.
5. Surgery is needed if all above measures fail.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions is there.
