What Causes High BP And High Pulse Rate Post Intake Of Tramadol?

Question: I am 80 and in perfect health. Last night I had two tablets on my nightstand one Benedryl for me to sleep and a tramadol for my dog. I took the tramadol by mistake. I have never taken pain pills. My nervous system seems to be upset. My blood pressure is normally low. A few minutes ago I took it and it was 151/83 and my pulse was 65. I feel sick. what do you think?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to tramadol adverse effects.

Tramadol is an opioid drug, used to treat pain. It can cause adverse effects like nausea, dizziness, anxiety in some patients.

Nevertheless, you have nothing to worry about!

These symptoms are just temporary, within this day and will resolve spontaneously.

I would not recommend taking benadryl as usually because of possible interactions between benadryl and tramadol.

Just try to relax and closely monitor your blood pressure.
