What Causes High LFT And Uric Acid Values?
Will answer one by one.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
A) Your SGPT-53 ,SGOT-41 and GGT-85 are slightly elevated (but not too high) and they do not have any clinical significance especially in the absence clinical symptoms.
All these LFTs (SGPT,SGOT,GGT) are highly sensitive liver function tests,so they get easily raised following oily or fatty meal or even few alcohol drinks.
But they are NOT dangerous and probably they will come down to normal by themselves within few days.
So,there is NO need to worry about this slight elevation of LFTs.
B) Total serum cholesterol (171) is normal but serum triglycerides (366) value is elevated with low HDL cholesterol 22,thus TC/HDL ratio is very high which needs some medical attention.
To reduce cholesterol/HDL ratio and triglyceride, you may need to start hypolipidemic drugs (like atorvastatin in combination with fenofibrates) which will be helpful to bring down bad cholesterol values.
You can consult your family doctor or some local physician for the prescription of above drugs.
Cholesterol should also be controlled with diet, here are the foods to control cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
1. Avoid oily foods, especially deep fried.
2. Take lot of fiber diet, this lowers your cholesterol absorption.
3. Oilve oil is much better than coconut oil and palm oil.
4. Avoid junk and fast food like pizzas, burgers, pastas, etc
5) To take vitamin B4 (niacin) which is believed to increase HDL cholesterol.
Along with dietary measures and medications,I will also suggest you to engage in brisk walking, or cycling for at least 30 min a day.
C) High uric acid level (8.2) can be easily treated with drugs like fabuxostat with some dietary and life style modifications.
1. Avoid red meat if you take.
2. Avoid leafy vegetables
3. Drink plenty of water at least 2 to 3 liters per day
4 Cardio vascular exercises like jogging, swimming for at least 30 min a day.
If your high uric acid level is associated with joint symptoms then you will need to consult a rheumatologist or physician.
D) Your vitamin D is mildly low which can be managed easily.
You can take vitamin D3 cholecalciferol (brand name: Uprise D3) in sachets forms 60,000 IU once weekly which will be available over the counter.
Apart from medical treatment, you should have adequate sun light exposure preferably in morning hours around 8 AM for minimum 10 to 15 minutes daily.
You should continue the vitamin D3 supplements for 3 months initially with adequate sunlight exposure which will replenish it's store.
Rest of all other reports are clinically normal, even though some of them are marginally deviated from the given normal reference range.
Hope this detailed answer will be helpful.
