What Causes Incomplete Defecation, Chronic Diarrhea And Burning Sensation Around Anus?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Nov 2015
Question: I constantly feel like my bowels aren't empty. When I urinate I almost always have a little diarrhea that pours out. I have had diarrhea on and off for about a month. My anus is burning like crazy and there is blood when I wipe.
I take 40mg of Vyvanse at 7am and then 40mg at around 3pm. 1mg xanax at night. Could this be causing my issues and should I see a Dr? I also feel tired and very dizzy when I stand up. I am in good health. I am 5'10 and weigh 127lbs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that the blood in your anus when you wipe and burning sensation could be related to hemorrhoids.

Vyvanse could also cause abdominal pain and diarrhea as an adverse effect, but can not explain the bleeding in your anus.

The chronic fatigue and dizziness could be explained with low blood pressure and possible anemia (from bleeding).

Have you measured your blood pressure lately? I recommend to closely monitor your blood pressure in sitting and standing up position, different times during the day.

You should consult with a gastroenterologist for a careful physical examination(including rectal examination), a stool analysis and a GI endoscopy, to find out the possible cause of bleeding and these abdominal complains.

Some blood lab tests are also needed :

-complete blood count (for chronic anemia)
-kidney and liver function tests
-blood electrolytes
-fasting glucose, etc.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above mentioned issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri
