What Causes Inflammed And Sore Spot On Left Arm?
Bacterial skin infection; oral and topical antibacterial
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query and i have also reviewed the images.
This seems like a bacterial skin and soft tissue infection i.e furuncle.
A furuncle is usually sore, red and the surrounding area is indurated/ hard on palpation.
If i was the treating doctor i would have started you on an Oral antibiotic for a week.
My choice of an oral antibacterial would be either flucloxacillin Or cephalexin for a week.
Topically you may use an OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily.
An Otc oral antiinflammatory e.g ibuprofen, once or twice daily will provide you symptomatic relief from pain.
Since you have had similar recurrences in recent past therefore I suggest that you also get your blood sugar levels checked.
