What Causes Intermittent Forehead Pain In A 5 Year Old Child?

Question: My 5 year old has been complaining of forehead pain on and off for a week or so. It all started after he had severe forehead pain accompanied by a fever a couple of weeks ago. He was diagnosed (in the emergency room) with the flu. Although, the test for the flu at the time had come back negative.

Brief Answer:
Forehead pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
The diagnosis of flu in the absence of a positive flu test is questionable, especially inblighy of the persistent symptoms.

Difficult an accurate diagnosis without an exam. However, I believe the more likely diagnosis is a Sinus infection. The forehead is precisely where the frontal sinus lies and can frequently be a source of pain in sinus infections. These are typically treated with antibiotics and resolve completely.

I recommend consulting with your doctor so the correct treatment plan can be implemented.
