What Causes Intermittent Pain Around The Scapula After Injury?
Question: I broke my collar bone at age 3 and years later fell off a ladder and landed on my scapula, same side. Never had MRI. Have had pain around and under the scapula on and off for 22 years. Big flare up this week and while I am planning on requesting an MRI from my PCP I was wondering how probable it might be that I have scapula dyskinesis. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Do you have any abnormal or unexpected movements?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Scapula dyskinesis means that the scapula allows for strange and abnormal movements; that is in certain directions that may not be normally possible. I will like to know if you have witnessed any such abnormal movements.
For the flare, I will suggest you take Ibuprofen, 400mg every 8hours and Tylenol 1000mg every 8hours while waiting to meet and get imaging investigations done.
I hope to hear from you. I wish you well. Keep me posted with your progress.
Kind regards
