What Causes Intermittent Pain In Left Shoulder Above The Armpit?
Question: I have has a sharpe intrrmittent pain in my left shoulder near above the armpit on and off all day.
I did go out and drink and smoke ciagettes last night

Hello. If it hurts to move the shoulder it's probably bursitis and that responds to moist heat, topical capsaicin cream, oral ibuprofen, and rest.
That said, heart pain can sometimes only occur in the left shoulder area so, for that reason, you should at least have a doctor take a look at this.
