What Causes Intermittent Warm Sensation In The Left Side Of The Face?
Question: My wife is complaining that she is feeling warmness on left side of her face which goes all the way to left arm pit and shoulder ribs. When I touch her I don’t feel any warmness to the touch.
We have consulted her doctor and gave XRAYS to see if it is because of nerve compression and there is no nerve compression. Doctor even asked for MRI of XXXXXXX and couldn’t figure out anything. When the warmness XXXXXXX comes she is also complaining about nasal blockage so Doctor examined her for possible Sinus problem which turned out she doesn’t have any sinus problem.
The warmness seems to come at irregular period of times, She feels ok for some days then it starts again and she couldn’t sleep well because of this.
We are puzzled now as the warmness seems to be keep coming back every now and then, which is causing lot of disturbance in our personal life.
We are planning to consult an allergist to check if this could be because of any allergies? Since she is complaining about nasal blockage during warmness sensations I am taking her to an allergist this week.
Could you please guide us in right direction to find the root cause of the Warmness?

Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic,
I have gone carefully through your concern and I am sorry for your wife's situation.
As you explain the history yes I do agree that you should exclude allergy problems by doing:
-Total IgE
-Pneumoalergens
-Prick tests
But if she were my patient I would recommend you to exclude thyroid glands problems that might be the cause of her complaints too with as follows :
Ultrasound of thyroid glands
TSH, FT4
If they come positive than she should start the proper treatment.
Please do the above and you can also attach the results here and I will try to help you again
Regards and feel free to ask me again

Thank you the reply..we just returned home from allergist and she is negative to any allergies.
She dose have hypo thyriodism and she is on medication from last three year and she is taking synthriod for that regularly.
If not the above two what else would it be that you can think off..i am thinking about consulting a neurologist as our last resort..pls advice.

Hi again
Ok if she is already under treatment for hypothyroidism than the next step is the neurologist.
In my opinion you are following the right way for finding the cause and have excluded the most usual causes of her symptoms.
I hope a fast recovery for your wife.
