Brief Answer:
Take acetaminophen and do tepid sponging.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Thanks for posting to us.

It will be fine if you clear few more points:
1)When did the symptoms start?
2)any symptoms other than cold(like fever, abdominal pain, nausea, burning sensation on urination, increased frequency of urination etc)?
2)Is he having breathing difficulty or cough with expectoration of yellow sputum?
3)Any history of diseses like asthma or COPD?

If there is only fever and cold, this may respond to antipyretics(acetaminophen 500 mg 3-4 times daily) and antihistamines(Levocetirizine 5 mg bedtime) for about 5 days; otherwise we may need antibiotics too for which your doctor will guide you.

Meanwhile let him take adequate bed rest, enough oral fluids, take acetaminophen & Levocetirizine and do tepid sponging.

Hope this answer will help.
Kindly do follow up.
Wishing for a faster cure.
Thank you.
