What Causes Irregular Heart Beats Post Metoprolol Withdrawal?
Question: Dear Sir,
I had irregular heartbeat in past 2 years before and was taking MET XL 50 Mg for the same. The BP was also in the range of 140/80. Then I approached to the homeopathic treatment for the BP. and then after taking medicines for some time the BP decreased to 130/80 and hence I was adviced to tamper the METXL to 25 Mg. I had tampered the same from last 1 month but now a days I am feeling the irregular heartbeat if i miss the dose in the very next day for eg. if yesterday I took METXL 25 mg at 11:00 and today i forgot to take by 11:00am then by 2 o clock i will feel like irregular heartbeat. Please advice. Is this normal or there is something serious. I am feeling like there is something struck in my throat during this time and this episode takes place mostly during taking lunch.. Please advice

The Metaprolol that you are taking is supposed to reduce both heart rate and BP. There are many other BP medicines which increase or no effect on heart beat. SO one option would be to stop homeopathic medicines and go back on previous dosage. Also its advisable that you have ECG, Echo and further tests if there is any new issue
