Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, Welcome to HCM.

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Irregular periods after delivery and during breastfeeding is common and you do not need to panic about this condition.

This is because the uterus and its lining is getting back to their normal pre -pregnant state.

Moreover, the body also tries to regulate the hormonal levels leading to irregular and heavy periods for few months after child birth.

Tranexemic acid and mefenamic acid is given to decrease the blood flow, and are to be taken if the bleeding is very heavy.
They have no role in regulating the cycles.

If the irregularity of the menstrual cycle continues after 6 months of childbirth, then it needs to be investigated by ultrasound and other relevant investigations and further treatment should be taken accordingly.

I suggest you both not to worry and enjoy the parenthood.
