Question: Hi doctor.. I was under a mental stress and my period has been scanty since last 9 months .. It doesn't last for more than 24 hours . it used to be 3 days regularly.
I had got hypothyroidism but it is corrected last 2 months. Im trying to concieve .. Doc checked ovulation follicles were good size ..utereus lining was good too.. I was put on duphatston .. It delayed period and it came up scantier this time. Can't I not take this med and get pregnant.
Also why periods so less when thyroid is corrected? Where does the blood go if its not coming out. I follow a healthy diet and routine. Thanks in advance for your help.

Brief Answer:
Stress is the reason

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about less menstrual flow.

This is commonly seen in women under stress. Since you are undergoing stress your cycles are likely to be irregular and variations in flow as you are experiencing.

This is due to hormonal variations that occur is stress which leads to these problems.

This can also happen if you are overweight. Let me know your height and weight.

Brief Answer:
Hysteroscopy required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you are not in stress, I suggest you get Hysteroscopy done from your doctor to check Uterine cavity which is probable reason for less flow. If there is any abnormality which is not detected by ultrasound scan can be detected by Hysteroscopy.

Brief Answer:
Repeat ultrasound scan from a different doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

In that case you need to recheck your Endometrial thickness by another doctor. This is commonly seen when there is reduced Endometrial thickness.
