Brief Answer:
It might be due to hormonal imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your information.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the cause for irregular cycles might be:-
1)Thyroid abnormalities like hypothyroidism.
2)polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD)- It is an ovarian abnormality where in there is irregular ovulation leading to irregular cycles and excess growth of facial hair on chin.
3)Obesity-Here there is hormonal imbalance leading to irregular cycles.
All the above things are interrelated.
I suggest you to consult gynaecologist and get thyroid profile and ultrasound done to rule out the the thyroid and ovarian abnormalities. And after diagnosis with apt treatment they will become normal.Dont worry.
Weight reduction is first and most important thing. This helps in regularization of cycles. So try to reduce the weight by adopting healthy lifestyle like exercise or walking daily.Avoid junk food and high calorie diet.Take low calorie diet and fresh fruits and veggies.
Now as your last menstrual period was in November and urine pregnancy test is negative you can take tab.meprate 10 mg twice a day for 5 days. With this you might get the period in 7 to 10 days.
But do get your hormonal evaluation done by consulting the doctor.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to ask any more queries.

Brief Answer:
irregular cycles should be treated first

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.I understand your concern.
In my opinion if you have missed period wait for spontaneous onset of period for a week or 10 days.If still no period and you are sure that you are not pregnant provera can be taken. But this cant be repeated regularly.
So you need to know the cause for irregularity first and proceed basing on that.
Once the cause is known treating the cause will cure the condition and make cycles regular.
I suggest you to follow the things I mentioned in previous answer.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.

Brief Answer:
Depends on endometrium thickness

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.I am happy to answer you again.
In my opinion sometimes it happens where in there might not be response to meprate due to poor growth of endometrium(It is the lining of uterus).
In these cases a course of oral contraception pills (OCP)are taken where in the estrogen in OCP cause good endometrium growth and progesterone causes the bleeding.
Usually meprate causes bleeding in 3 to 7 days but it might vary in different people.
So I suggest you to wait for a week for spontaneous onset of period. The cramps might suggest there might be chance for period.
If there is no period even then I suggest you to consult gynaecologist as you might need an ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness( which should be 8mm to 10mm) and depending on that if thickness is less the OCP might be given. At the time cause of irregular cycles will be ruled out.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.
