What Causes Irritable Behavior After Taking Buspar With SSRI And Lamictal?

Question: I suffer from some mix of anxiety and depression, possibly mixed with some degree of BPII, PTSD, maybe even borderline personality disorder.
I took buspar several times with my SSRI and lamictal and it helped greatly with concentration, reading, anxiety, etc., but made me incredibly irritable after a week or two.
Is there a theory as to why this happens? I know that in addition to agonizing 5hta-1 receptors in also lowers dopamine and increases neurepinepherine. I would love to be able to find a work-around for this without having to take an anti-psychotic or increasing my SSRI...which causes a lot bad side effects.
thanks

Brief Answer:
Buspar
Detailed Answer:
Excellent question.
Buspar is a drug generally used for anxiety, which makes sense in your case. However, like an antidepressant, it carries a small risk of activation, which is manifesting as irritability in your case. It might be possible that this is just coincidence, that the irritability is not related to Buspar, but it could be. It seems like Buspar helped you, so I would consider lowering the dose and seeing if that still provides the benefit without the irritability.
