What Causes Irritation On The Inside Of Mouth?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Aug 2015
Question: I have an irritation on the inside of the right side of mouth. It has recurred previously, several times. It is painful and appears to be a yellowish, indented-like line running from the back of the inside of my cheek to the corner of my mouth. This is really difficult to explain. I can't tell if this is a tooth issue. I just had my teeth x-rayed and cleaned a week ago. The dentist didn't mention any teeth problems.

Brief Answer:
concerning

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This is concerning and I suggest that you see your family doctor or an ENT surgeon for further evaluation and possible biopsy of this area. It is particularly concerning if you are a smoker. Sometimes an oral cancer can look like this. Please get it checked as soon as possible.
It may be nothing serious but it is best to get it checked out.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
