What Causes Itchiness, Swelling And Burning Sensation In Vagina Along With Discharge?

mixed vaginosis....explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
With the history of symptoms with thick cottage cheese like discharge with itching definitely indicates a yeast infection , but also presence of burning in vagina and redness with swelling indicates a bacterial element as well. This can be mixed vaginosis with both bacterial ad fungal infection together.
This can be confirmed first by a high vaginal swab culture taken after a per speculum exam to isolate the causative organisms possible fungal spore and bacteria. Once confirmed , then you have to be placed on both antibiotics and antifungals together.
There are vaginal suppositeries or pessaries available with both antibiotic and anti fungal combination ( clindamycin and clotrimazole) , which have to be applied each night intravaginally for 7 days to complete the course of treatment. Also oral anti fungal like TAB FLUCONAZOLE 150mg has to be taken once a week for 2 weeks.
Itching shall reduce over 4-5 days and the discharge shall become homogenous indicating improvement.
However , an antihistaminic like TAB CETRIZINE 5mg may be taken twice a day for 3 days to alleviate itching symptoms.
please keep the local area dry and avoid intercourse completely till treated completely to avoid cross infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
if you are benefitted by tea tree suppositories its fine ...the idea is to make the vaginal environment acidic to avoid
yeast growth.
ideally antifungal+ antibiotic vaginal pessary for 7 days would have been the best.
BUt if you are benefitted by naturopathy...then there is no harm.it takes 5 to 7 days for yeast to subside ,.
you can combine apple vinegar washes with these suppositories and can achieve quicker results. The vinegar has to be diluted as i mentioned earlier.
