What Causes Itching, Dryness And Red Patches On The Right Leg?

Question: Sir,

Out of sudden these red patches have appeared on my right leg. I tried using lotions to sooth the itching and dryness but it didn't fade away. It has been almost 2 weeks since this problem is not getting under control. I am feel very shy and embarrassed to wear shorts because of the same. Please help!

I am Dr. kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have viewed the image.

Its eczematous dermatitis. Red, dry, scaly patch.

I suggest you to use a moisturizer liberally. In addition you must use a potent topical steroid e.g clobetasol propionate 0.05% cream over this patch.
I also suggest a tab. cerizine for symptomatic relief from itching.

hi.

Yes, this cream is fine. Also use a moisturizer, twice daily. Use Clobetasol propionate 0.05% cream, twice daily for the patches, after the moisturizer. You may also take a tab. cetrizine 10mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching. Tab Cetrizine is available OTC.
