What Causes Itching In Genital Region When Diagnosed With Chlamydia?
Question: Hi Doc,
I am an 20 year female and I've been experiencing mild itching in my genital region (including anal) . I've recently become sexually active (first and last sexual experience over 5 weeks ago) and have been tested for STDs (no trich or herpes test done ). I only tested positive for Chlamydia and have completed the treatment 3 weeks ago. I due not see any lice or eggs or mite bits or herpes blisters and haven't used any new products . I think I had the itching before I become sexually active from trying to shave that area (it was an epic fail, resulting in razor burn and bumps). I guess my question is could the itching still be from the shaving or is it an STD (like lice that's not visible yet...is that possible? ) .....basically looking for your thoughts?

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I went through your query and understood your concerns.
Itching with your description of symptoms I can think of two possibilities . One fungal infection, which is STD and can be managed by taking complete treatment . Secondly allergy to your shaving set, anti allergic medications do help to reduce itching.
After shaving hair, lice are very rare to see.
Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query,
Wish you a good health.
