Hello dear,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have read your query and understood your concern.
Such itching sensations on body may be due to number of reasons like
1) seborrheic dermatitis

3) allergic contact dermatitis
4) atopic dermatitis
Also kindly givr me following details :
1) I would like to know whether itch is associated with any lesions on body?

Many thanks for the quick response. Please see my replies:
1) I would like to know whether itch is associated with any lesions on body?
>> No. However, strangely, my father who was visiting my place, developed the same allergy at the same time as me. He has severe rashes and lesions and is seeing a dermatologist (he is back in his home town now). It started off the same way as me (severe itching, and unable to sleep at night due to the same). For me it has stopped at that, for him however it has resulted in rashes.
2) Also kindly tell me if there is associated scaling on scalp or red colored irchy lesions on corresponding sites.?
>> No
3) history of recurrent cold or cough?
>> Yes. The throat infection and severe cough that I had about a month back did not resolve completely. I still have dry cough, and occasional throat pain.
If possible and lesions are present kindly send pic of the lesions so that I can help you to my best.
4) duration of itch ?
>> 2 weeks now. First treatment was for 5 days, upon whose completion, I developed the symptoms again after 2 days of stoppage. I get quite a bit of relief with the medicine, but not completely.
Thanks again.

Brief Answer:
tab fexofenadine in morning and levocetrizine nyt
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome again.
It seems that you are suffering from acute urticaria. It is a sort of allergy which may ne due to a number of reasons like recent infection, food, pollen grains, weather change, drugs etc. In most of the cases, cause for this allergy is not found.
I usually advice my patients to take tab fexofenadine in morning and tab levocetrizine montelukast combination in night time for atleast 2 weeks.
The drugs are tapered slowly and one by one.
You may discuss this with your treating doctor. I am sure he will agree with my opinion.
I hope it helps.
If you have any further query you may ask me.
Stay healthy.
