What Causes Itching, Skin Rashes And Low Grade Fever When Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia?

Question: I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia since 1999. I realize my pain that is severe at times can cause a lot of things to happen to you, but lately I have been itching all over and sometimes run a low fever. I have developed a slight rash, not all over my body. I also get so weak that I can't even do my grocery shopping without an electric wheel chair. Are these symptoms a sign of something else.

Brief Answer:
Read below.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

The symptoms you describe of itching, low grade fever, skin rash are not manifestations which can be attributed to fibromyalgia. They might be manifestations of a chronic infection or an inflammatory condition like connective tissue disease.
For that reason I believe you should have at least some routine screening tests for blood alterations indicative for inflammation and infection, tests like complete blood count, c-reactive protein, erythrocite sedimentation rate, fibrinogen. According to the findings of these tests and the physical examination by your doctor for signs of infection, more specific tests may be considered subsequently.

Brief Answer:
Not threatening.

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry about not being more precise, I guess I assumed you had happened to come across that term as such conditions are the main ones considered in the differential diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

They are not life threatening do not worry, they are chronic. Connective tissue disease is a term including a group of many diseases, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis being two of the most common examples. Because connective tissue is present virtually in every human organ these conditions can have many variable manifestations.
