What Causes Itchy Feet While Suffering From Dengue?

Question: Hello Doctor,
My Son of 9 years 7 Months was diagnosed with Dengue. He is undergoing treatment now. He is experiencing severe itching on the soles of his feet. No rashes are noticed. We gave him 30mg/5ml of Allegra twice but this has not helped. We have also been applying aloe vera gel on his feet. Can we try an alternate medicine such as Avil 25 that can help him.

Brief Answer:
Itching is a recovery sign of dengue - I suggest Atarax
Detailed Answer:
Hi...Itching is a recovery sign of dengue. I suggest you use - Hydroxyzine at 1-2mg/kg/dose every 6th to 8th hourly for 5 days.
For your child you can use - Syrup Atarax at 5ml thrice a day for 5 days.
This is a prescription medicine and you will need one for it.
